
Three Cougars Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Matt Lenert, Hogan Walker and Ryan Watson of the Charleston men's soccer team earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the 2025 season.
The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. In order to earn the award, student athletes must be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing at their current institution, have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 and be a starter or important reserve (start in 90% of games or compete in 66% of contests).
Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced December 16th.
Lenert holds a 3.655 cumulative GPA and is majoring in economics. He made the All-CAA First Team in 2025 after playing in all 17 of Charleston's games, making 16 starts and totaling five goals - including two game-winners during his junior season. The Falls Church, Va. native scored the game-winner against then-ranked No. 15 North Carolina on September 1 and the game-winner against USC Upstate on September 9. The forward's five goals ranked tied for 5th in the CAA in 2025.
Walker is majoring in finance and holds a 3.698 GPA. The junior midfielder competed in all 17 of the Cougars' games and made 12 starts this season. He scored in the season opener against South Carolina and recorded an assist against Boston University on August 29th. The Nashville, Tenn. native logged 970 total minutes during his junior campaign.
Watson holds a 3.748 GPA and is majoring in finance. The sophomore defender played in all 17 of CofC's games and made seven starts during the 2025 season. He recorded an assist at Winthrop on October 14th and played a total of 861 minutes this year. During his career, the Chesterfield, N.J. native has tallied three goals and three assists.
During the 2025 season, Charleston shutout and defeated two top-15 teams, had the No. 1 play on the SportsCenter Top 10 list on October 25 and finished with a record of 6-8-3.
