Charleston Men's Basketball Named One of the Top 15 Basketball Schools in the Nation

The College of Charleston men's basketball team was named one of the top 15 basketball schools in the nation by Basketball Times, it was announced yesterday.  Duke was named the nation's top college basketball program for the second consecutive year by the semi-decennial analysis that will be published in the November issue of Basketball Times.

The project ranks 29 programs in a variety of categories including winning percentage over the last decade, coaching and graduation rate.  To be eligible, the teams must have won two-thirds of their games over the last 10 years.

Over the last 10 years, Charleston has compiled a 221-80 record, won two conference championships, five divisional championships, three conference tournament championships, and appeared in two NCAA Regionals and one National Invitational Tournament.

Charleston opens its 2007 regular season Saturday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at UNC Wilmington.  The Cougars host an exhibition game, Thurs., Nov. 1st against Augusta State at the John Kresse Arena.
