
Cougars Down Indiana State, 13-1

Michael Kohn homered and drove in four runs for the second straight game and Danny Meszaros allowed only three hits in six innings of work to lead the College of Charleston to a 13-1 win over Indiana State before 406 at Patriots Point Stadium Friday night.
With the win, Charleston improved to 12-4 on the season, while the Sycamores fell to 2-9. The two teams play a doubleheader Saturday, with the first game starting at 12 noon.
Kohn's two-run blast to right-center in the bottom of the third helped the Cougars grab a 4-1 lead. Later, Kohn's two-run single extended a nine-run sixth inning. Stuart Haywood also added three RBI in the sixth inning.
Joash Brodin went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple, and Gabe Marchant went 3-for-5 with an RBI.
Meszaros (1-1) allowed only one run with four strikeouts. Freshman Nick Osterman worked the final three innings with three strikeouts for his first career save.
Indiana State's Sean Osborne had an RBI double in the second inning.
