MT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball earned the series win Friday evening with an 8-5 victory against William & Mary in game two from Patriots Point.

Graduate Will Tippett drove in a career-high four RBI in the win, including three off a home run in the fourth.

Sophomore Parker Sweeney earned his fourth victory, striking out six Tribe hitters in the final three frames.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST WILLIAM & MARY:

Redshirt junior Braeden Smith got the scoring going in the first with a two-run single.
Tied at two in the fourth, Tippett launched his fourth home run in the last eight days, a three-run shot.
Charleston kept the lead for good, scoring two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh.
Smith and freshman Jake Amman each had two knocks in the win.
Amman also swiped two bases, giving him 19 on the season.
Graduate Kurt Rogers made his third consecutive start, allowing two runs in 4.0 innings of work.

OF NOTE:

Charleston improves to 36-14 against William & Mary and 20-4 at home. The Cougars are 22-3 against the Tribe in the last 25 games.
CofC has also won the last 11 home games versus W&M.
Redshirt senior Ethan Plyler now has a base hit in 12 straight ballgames.
Tippett extended his hitting streak to six games with the homer in the fourth.
Tippett also drove in a career-best four runs Friday.

UP NEXT:

Charleston wraps up the regular season Saturday for a 1 p.m. ballgame against William & Mary at Patriots Point.
Prior to the game, the senior class will be honored in a ceremony on the field.
