CofC Track & Field Closes out Season at SoCon Championships

Amy Laughlin's third in the 1500 meter run and Brynne Johnson's sixth-place in the high jump highlighted the
Laughlin posted a time of 4:56.53 for second in the 1500 meter run. Christy Barrow was fourth with a 4:58.53 and Erin Stoddard was 12th with a 5:15.63.
Johnson cleared 5'2.25” for her sixth-place finish in the high jump for the Cougars.
Johnson and Isabel Boersma competed in the heptathlon, and finished seventh and eighth, respectively. Johnson totaled 3,983 points, while Boersma totaled 3,858.
Two CofC school records were broken in Friday's action. Summer Chambless cleared 11'11.25” in the preliminary round of the pole vault. She had tied her own school record earlier this season with an 11'5.75” mark at the Buc invitational in early March. Mary Zolga posted a time of 58.04 in the 400 meter dash and eclipsed the school record, which she set at the Murray Neely Invitational earlier this year with a time of 59.32. She placed fourth in the second heat of the preliminary round.
