
Women's Soccer Remains Unbeaten with 3-2 victory over Presbyterian

With the win, the Cougars move to 4-0-0 on the year, the best start in the history of the program. Presbyterian falls to 0-3-0 with the loss.
"We have to give lots of credit to Presbyterian for coming back in the second half," said head coach Kevin Dempsey. "The experience of our team showed when we fought off the comeback and pulled out the win. We are all very excited to be 4-0."
The Cougars opened the scoring in the match in the 15th minute when Manthey scored her second goal of the season off an assist from Brittany Schneider.
In the 27th minute, Romanik scored her first goal of the season off a corner kick from Christy Barrow. Barrow got credited with another assist in the 44th minute on Patton's goal, which was her first of the year. Chrissy Caruso was also credited with an assist on the play, as the Cougars went into the half with a 3-0 lead.
In the second half, Presbyterian came storming back with goals by Christy Robinson in the 58th minute and Sheldon Robinson in the 81st minute. The Cougars, however, were able to hang on in the final minutes of the game to take the victory and remain unbeaten.
Goal keeper Erin Smith earned her third win of the year, as she made five saves in net for the Cougars.
