
CofC Edges USC Aiken in Exhibition, 94-92

Tony White, Jr. (Knoxville, Tenn.) scored 24 points including the game-winning jumper with 1.6 seconds left that lifted College of Charleston to a thrilling 94-92 overtime win over USC Aiken in an exhibition game before 2,008 at Carolina First Arena on Saturday.
The Cougars open regular season play at Coastal Carolina on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. The Pacers play host to Life (Ga.) on Nov. 18 at 7:30.
White banked in a jumper from just beyond the free throw line to give Charleston the win. The Pacers tied the game at 92-all on a pair of free throws from Byron Faison with 31 seconds left.
Freshman Willis Hall (Charlotte, N.C.) added 17 points for the Cougars, while Casaan Breeden (Clio, S.C.) had 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Andrew Goudelock (Lilburn, Ga.) scored 14 points, while Donavan Monroe (Waxhaw, N.C.) dished out a team-high five assists.
The Pacers got a game-high 35 points from Faison who hit 13-of-25 field goal attempts, including 7-of-14 from behind the arc. Re'mon Nelson added 23 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
For the game, the Cougars shot 54.0 percent from the floor hitting 34-of-63 attempts. The Pacers shot 43.0 percent (37-86). The Pacers out-rebounded the Cougars 48-34.
The Pacers rallied from an 83-77 deficit with 1:32 left in regulation. Nelson's 27-foot 3-pointer from the right wing with six seconds left sent the game into overtime tied at 85-all.
