SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The College of Charleston men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought match at Wofford on Friday, losing 4-3 in Southern Conference action.
With the loss, the Cougars drop to 5-8 overall, 2-2 in the Southern Conference, while Wofford improves to 7-8, 1-1 in the SoCon.
In doubles action, Wofford swept all three matches to earn a team point.
Charleston would fight back in singles action, as they captured three of the first four matches that finished on the day, all in straight sets.
Mickael Boyer (Le Cannet, France) won 6-0, 6-4 at number three singles over Scott Collins, Lukas Koncilia (Tyrol, Australia) was victorious at number one 6-3, 6-2 over Stuart Roberston and Tom Delme (Hamoir, Belgium) knocked off Danny Manlow 7-5, 6-4 in the number two spot.
Wofford, however, came back to win matches in the four and five spots to earn the win.
The Cougars return to action tomorrow when they visit UNC Greensboro. Action starts at 10 a.m.
