Men's Golf Finishes Eighth at Gary Koch

John Duke Hudson (Sonora, Texas) shot a 71 in the third round to move to a tie for third with a six-under par 210, as the College of Charleston men's golf team posted an 882 in 54 holes to finish eighth at the Gary Koch Invitational held Oct. 2-3 at the Old Memorial Golf Club in Tampa, Fla. Virginia was 15-under par with an 849 to win the tournament by nine strokes over Auburn, who finished second.
North Florida placed third with an 866 and in fourth was UNC Greensboro with an 868. Rounding out the top five was Florida State with an 870.
Virginia's Ben Kohles shot a 207 to take individual medalist honors, with Florida State's Brooks Koepka finished second just one stroke behind.
Following Hudson for the Cougars was Alex Ellis (Austin, Texas) who tied for 16th with a 217. Parker Allen (Blythewood, S.C.) tied for 49th with a 229 and tied for 51st was Seth Stuart (Austin, Texas) with a 230 in three rounds. Coy Breen (San Antonio, Texas) tied for 57th with a 234.
The Cougars are next in action Oct. 18-19 at the Davidson Intercollegiate, being held at the River Run Country Club in Davidson, N.C.
