DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - College of Charleston men's tennis didn't drop a single set against Bethune-Cookman as the Cougars cruised to a 7-0 victory on Friday afternoon.
Charleston (2-1) won all nine matches in the team's second sweep of the season. The squad went 3-0 in doubles action as junior Lukas Koncilia (Tyrol, Austria/Franciscian) and sophomore Tom Delme (Hamoir, Belgium/Athenne Royale Margueritte Bervoets) extended their win streak in dual-match play to three. The duo claimed an 8-2 victory over Wildcats Marc Misanovic and Emil Vassilev.
Koncilia also remains unbeaten as the No. 1 seed in singles competition. The co-captain faced Misanovic for a second time that day and earned a 6-3, 6-3 win. He is now 6-0 in all competition since the dual match season began.
Sophomore Mickael Trintignac (Le Cannet, France/St. Maria School) paired with John Harden (Atlanta, Ga./Pace Academy) at the No. 2 spot in doubles for the first time in 2010. The duo battled Christian Cruz and Greg Streat in a close match before escaping with an 8-6 victory. Freshman Billy Kenny (Pawley's Island, S.C./Waccamaw) and senior Steven Myers (Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) also teamed up for the first time of the season to claim an 8-2 victory at the third spot.
College of Charleston remains in Florida for the remainder of the weekend. The Cougars will face North Florida on Sunday in Jacksonville at 10 a.m.
