
Cougars Excel On Day One of Tiger Paw Invitational

Sophomore Dena O'Brien finished third in the mile run, clocking a time of 4:58.38, breaking her previous school record of 4:59.28. It is the third time she has run the event under five minutes.
Senior Emily Smith finished tied for second-place in the high jump as she cleared 1.70 meters (5-7).
Fellow senior Alyssa D'Orazio finished eighth-place in the 1,000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 3:05.61. Laura Call competed in the 500-meter dash and finished 16th in 1:21.89.
In the 300-meter dash freshman Lorna Doucette ran 43.79 to finish in 26th place. The Cougars had two athletes competing in the weight throw as sophomore Christine Klinar put up a mark of 12.18 meters and freshman Tiffany Sisk threw the weight 11.19 meters.
The meet will resume tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. with the women's DMR and women's pole vault competitions.
