CLEMSON, SC – The College of Charleston men's tennis team kicked-off their spring season on Friday, falling on the road to No. 24-ranked Clemson, 4-0.
The Cougars (0-1), started the day off well, but were eventually over come in doubles play, after Tiger tandem Hunter Harrington and Domnique Maden dispatched of Brice Allanic and Charlie Ghriskey on court 1.
In singles play, Rodrigo Encinas fought hard against Harrington before eventually succumbing, 6-3, 6-1. After Maden defeated Allanic at number two singles, 6-2, 6-1, the Tigers clinched the match with Luke Johnson's win over Crescente Lesser, 6-3, 6-1 at number-four singles.
Clemson improves to 5-1 overall, while the Cougars return to action tomorrow against Wofford, in Spartanburg S.C., with doubles play set to kick off at noon.
