GREENSBORO, N.C. – College of Charleston track and field traveled a small-squad to the Aggie Last Chance Invite on Sunday performing well at the one-day meet hosted by North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
Just two weeks removed from a winning performance at the conference championships, sophomore Julisa Tindall finished second in the high-jump after reaching a mark of 1.80 meters. Having already qualified for the NCAA Southeast Preliminary, Tindall's day was brought to an early end by the CofC coaching staff, with the hope of preserving her best efforts for later this month.
Also competing well was senior RoShani Glover who continued her recent string of high-level performances with a third-place finish in the triple jump, while Sophomore Carlee Cassidy competed alone in the 3000-meter steeplechase, battling through hot conditions to finish in 11:24.31.
"I am very proud of how these three competed," said head coach Amy Seago. "They have worked extremely hard, have shown tremendous dedication to the process of improvement and have represented the Cougars well."
Next up for the The College is a May 28 trip to Jacksonville, Fla., where CofC will participate in the highly-competitive NCAA Prelims. In what should prove to be an exciting weekend of action, several student-athletes will be looking to book their place at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 10-13.
