VertCross Invitational Awaits CofC Cross Country

CHARLESTON, S.C. - With just one race to go until the CAA Championships in Delaware at the end of the month, the College of Charleston cross country program will set its sights on Kernersville, N.C. for High Point University's VertCross Invitational.
The race will feature 25 Division I programs, many of whom are former SoCon rivals of the College, including Appalachian State, Davidson, East Tennessee State, The Citadel, Western Carolina and Wofford. More importantly, the Cougars will get to compete against two CAA rivals in Elon and UNCW. Local rivals Charleston Southern and Coastal Carolina will be involved as well.
The event was originally slated to be hosted by Wake Forest, but extenuating circumstances forced them to withdraw, at which High Point took over hosting duties. This will mark the first time in the Amy Seago era that the Cougars will travel to Winston-Salem for cross country competition.
Things are set to kick off on Friday at 4:30 p.m. with the men's 8K race, followed by the women's 6K race at 5:15 p.m.
