POSTGAME QUOTES
College of Charleston Head Coach Earl Grant
On the game …
"I thought it was good for us to go out and have a 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. We really shared the ball and didn't turn it over much. That was a big positive for us. It also was beautiful to see two of our big kids combine for almost 30 points and 20 rebounds. That's something we have tried to emphasize – get the ball inside to Jarrell (Brantley), Nick (Harris) and Chevez (Goodwin) – how much that will help our offense by throwing it into the paint. I'm really proud of our guys for bouncing back from three tough games we played in a row. We knew this stretch would be tough. I was also impressed that we held USC Upstate to 60 points after they scored 108 at UNC Charlotte."
Â
College of Charleston Sophomore Forward Nick Harris
On playing against 7-foot USC Upstate big man Michael Buchanan …
"He (Michael Buchanan) is a very strong. Coach (Grant) told us during the week he was a very good player and not to take him lightly. He is one of the biggest guys I've ever played against. It was a good challenge for me and I tried to do my best against him."
Â
On shooting perfect from the floor …
"Our point guards were giving me the ball in perfect position. That's why I didn't miss a shot. I was dunking a lot of them, because they were driving it and kicking it right to me right in the 'dunker spot' as we call it. I was getting my dunks off and it's all credit to them for feeding me the ball."
Â
College of Charleston Redshirt Junior Guard Joe Chealey
On the team responding to USC Upstate late in the second half …
"You have to give them (USC Upstate) credit. They are a scrappy team and a resilient bunch. We didn't think the game would be easy. We knew what type of team that they were. For us, it's good to see that we responded to the adversity in the midst of the game and held on for the win."
