MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston freshman Evan Sisk allowed just one run over seven innings of work, but William & Mary plated four runs in the eighth inning to pull out a 6-1 win on Friday at Patriots Point.
Sisk struck out five batters and allowed five hits in the longest outing of his career. Dupree Hart drove in the lone run for the Cougars (28-24-1, 11-12 CAA) with a single in the third inning. The game remained tied until the eighth when the Tribe (25-27, 14-8) broke the game open with four runs aided, in part, by a pair of CofC errors.
Charleston did, however, clinch a spot in next week's Colonial Athletic Association Baseball Championship as Towson dropped its contest to Northeastern.
College of Charleston and William & Mary play the regular season finale on Saturday. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. CofC will honor its four seniors in a pregame ceremony.
NOTEWORTHY
> Evan Sisk posted a new career-high by pitching seven innings.
> Dupree Hart singled in the third inning to extend his hitting streak to a team-high nine games.
> Hart has recorded a hit in 23 of his last 27 games.
