Cougars Fall to Camels

The Cougars sit at 20-22 overall and 10-10 in the CAA while the Camels are now 28-14 and 19-4 in the league.
CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST CAMPBELL:
- Graduate Dylan Johnson went 5-for-5 Saturday while crossing the plate three times.
- Sophomore Alex LaCoste collected three hits in five at bats with three RBI in the setback.
- Trailing 1-0 in the first, sophomore Alex LaCoste leveled the game at one with a 109-mph single before scoring on redshirt senior Ethan Plyler's two-run triple.
- The Cougars tacked on three more runs in the second to take a 6-2 lead, courtesy of back-to-back singles by Johnson and LaCoste and an RBI knock by Plyler later in the frame.
- Campbell used a five-spot in the top of the fifth to take a brief 7-6 lead before the Cougars tied things up in the home half of the frame.
- LaCoste drove in his third run of the day, singling up the middle to plate Johnson, who led off the sixth with a double.
- Campbell scored two runs in the seventh and eighth and added an insurance run in the ninth to seal the win for the visitors.
OF NOTE:
- Charleston is 16-23 against Campbell.
- LaCoste's single in the opening frame gives him a hit in 12 straight games and hits in 27 of the last 28 contests.
- Johnson had a career-high five hits Saturday after previously setting his career mark in hits with four Tuesday against Charleston Southern.
- Johnson joins LaCoste in Cougars who have collected five-hit games this season.
