MT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball lost to Campbell 16-1 in seven innings, Friday evening at Patriots Point.

The Cougars are 20-21 overall and 10-9 in the CAA while the Camels improve to 27-14 and a league-best 18-4 in conference action.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST CAMPBELL:

The Camels scored a pair of runs in the second and third innings to take the 4-0 lead.
Campbell then broke the contest open with four in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Sophomore Alex LaCoste singled to center in the home half of the sixth to get CofC on the board while extending his hitting streak to 11 games.

OF NOTE:

Charleston is 16-22 against Campbell.
Johnson threw out his 20th base runner this season, becoming just the third Cougar backstop in school history to throw out at least 20 in a campaign.
LaCoste extended his hitting streak to 11 ballgames with a single in the sixth and now has a knock in 26 of the last 27 contests.
