CofC Baseball Season Ends in CAA Tournament

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – The College of Charleston baseball team's 2016 season came to an end on Friday at Patriots Point with a two losses in the Colonial Athletic Association Baseball Championships. The Cougars finish the season 31-26-1 and say goodbye to seniors Alex Pastorius, Morgan Phillips, Nathan Helvey and Eric Bauer.

College of Charleston pulled within one, 4-3, of William & Mary on consecutive RBI singles from Morgan Phillips and Tommy Richter. That was as close as the Cougars would come, however, as the Tribe plate one run in the seventh, four in the eighth and one more in the nine to put the game out of reach.
Richter put CofC on the board with a solo home run in the second. The sophomore was 2-for-3 in the game. Nathan Ocker (4-1) took the loss on the mound after surrendering four runs on four hits over six innings of work.

Evan Sisk allowed held the league's most potent offense to just two runs in eight innings of work, but it was not enough as the College of Charleston could muster only a single run on two hits falling 6-1 to the Seahawks and being forced into the elimination bracket.
Sisk (1-2) struck out five batters in a career-high eight innings on the mound at one point retiring seven consecutive hitters. The freshman's previous high came one week prior when he tossed seven innings against William & Mary.
Erven Roper drove in the only run of the game for The College with a two-out single in the first inning. Tommy Richter collected the only other hit in the game for CofC.
