COLUMBIA, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball travels to Columbia to face South Carolina April 7 for a 6:30 p.m. ballgame at Founders Park. The contest airs live on SEC Network Plus.

FIRST PITCH:
- Charleston walked off High Point in the series finale Saturday to win the ballgame 6-5.
- Graduate Dylan Johnson launched his third homer of the season in the seventh, a 409-foot shot.
- Johnson has three 3-hit performances in the last seven contests. In that span, Johnson is batting .458 (11-for-24) with six runs, six walks and a 1.206 OPS.
- Sophomore Alex LaCoste's single in the ninth proved to be the game-winner as it plated Johnson, who scored from first.
- LaCoste's efforts capped off the dominant week at the dish which saw the sophomore earn CAA Co-Player of the Week.
- LaCoste posted a 1.588 OPS in the four games, highlighted by a 5-hit, two-homer effort March 31 at Winthrop.
- Redshirt senior Alex Lyon made his 90th career appearance Saturday, becoming just the third Cougar pitcher to have 90 outings.
- Sophomore Parker Sweeney struck out a career-high six batters Saturday in three innings of relief.
- In his last seven outings, Sweeney has a 0.82 ERA, yielding one earned run on five hits across 11.0 innings while striking out 12.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Charleston is 7-36 in the series against South Carolina. The Gamecocks won last year's matchup, 4-3, at Segra Park in Columbia. CofC won the last contest at Founders, a 9-0 shutout victory May 9, 2018.
UP NEXT:
- Charleston returns to Patriots Point to host North Carolina A&T April 10-12 for a three-game conference series. First pitch in the opener is set for 6 p.m.
