LaCostes Earns CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – College of Charleston sophomore Alex LaCoste was named the Coastal Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week.
LaCoste shares the award with Towson's Brian Heckelman.
LaCoste batted .563 (9-for-16) with three extra-base hits and four RBI during the week. In the 15-5 win at Winthrop, the sophomore went 5-for-6 with two homers and four RBI, posting CofC's first 5-hit game since 2024. He had a pair of two-hit games against High Point, including a 2-for-4 effort in a 6-5 victory on Saturday, highlighted by a single in the ninth that led to the game-winning run.
Charleston earned its third weekly honor as LaCoste joins freshmen Jake Amman (Player, March 2) and Carter Harrington (Rookie, March 9). LaCoste
The Cougars return to the diamond April 7 in Columbia for a 6:30 p.m. contest against South Carolina at Founders Park.
