Rachel, Madison Power Cougars To 3-1 Win At Elon

ELON, N.C. --- Devon Rachel (Louisville, Ky.) and Kennedy Madison (Evansville, Ind.) combined for 34 of the Cougars' 59 kills to lead the College of Charleston volleyball team to a 3-1 come-from-behind victory at Elon on Friday evening in Colonial Athletic Association play.
 
College of Charleston (17-4, 6-1 CAA) won the match by scores of 22-25, 25-14, 25-19, and 25-14 to extend its win streak to five matches. The Cougars totaled 59 kills, 73 digs, and 12 blocks while attacking at a .287 clip. Elon (13-9, 2-5 CAA) finished the night with 47 kills, 63 digs, seven blocks and a .112 hitting percentage.
 
Rachel led the way with a match-high 19 kills to go along with five digs and three blocks, as Madison totaled 15 kills, five digs, and four blocks in addition to a blistering .480 hitting percentage. Krissy Mummey (Hudson, Ohio) and Jane Feddersen (Leesburg, Va.) added eight kills and six blocks, respectively.
 
Allison Beckman (Apex, N.C.) recorded a double-double with 46 assists and 10 digs to become the seventh player in program history to breach the 3,000-assist plateau. McKala Rhodes (Charleston, S.C.) posted a match-high 22 digs, as Logan Manusky (San Diego, Calif.) and Riana Brennan (Los Gatos, Calif.) added 13 and 11 digs, respectively.
 
Elizabeth Coil paced the Phoenix with 11 kills on 15 swings, as Kam Terry added 11 smashes of her own. Sydney Busa and Courtney Carpenter totaled nine and eight kills, respectively. Kodi Garcia dished out 40 assists, and Maddie Jaudon totaled 18 digs. Busa and Terry each chipped in 14 digs.
 
The Cougars return to the court on Sunday when they travel to Williamsburg, Va. to take on William and Mary at 1:00 pm.
