POSTGAME QUOTES
College of Charleston Head Coach Earl Grant
On the game …
"I'm proud of our players. They took care of business and did what they needed to do. They showed great character being down seven at home (at halftime). They came out in the second half and didn't flinch. They came out and really competed hard. They executed well and took the lead in the first four minutes."
Â
On the team's balanced scoring attack …
"In the first half, we got bogged down. I have to continue to do a better job of figuring out exactly who we are without
Jarrell Brantley. Now that we have a week to practice, maybe we can figure that out. We made some adjustments at halftime and they went out and executed it well. The players did an unbelievable job. Certainly, maybe we need to play motion (offense) more than we do ball screens. They really played unselfish, played hard, play inspired and they did what they needed to do to take care of their home court tonight."
Â
College of Charleston Senior Guard Joe Chealey
On the team's explosive second half of play …
"It's a 40-minute game. We went into halftime, and obviously, we made a few adjustments. We didn't lose our confidence. We settled into the game. We stuck to our game plan and trusted what our coach told us."
Â
College of Charleston Senior Guard Cameron Johnson
On the team's defense in the second half …
"We stayed in the gaps. We played help. We rotated a little better. We just made adjustments and stuck to our style of ball."
