WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. – College of Charleston seniors William Rainey (Charlotte, N.C.) and Parker Derby (Columbus, Ga.) both tied for 11th individually on the final day of the Southwestern Invitational held at the North Ranch Country Club on Tuesday.

Derby fired a final-round 69 with five birdies to finish the tournament at 1-under par, while Rainey carded rounds of 70, 71 and 74 (-1). Freshman Michael Sass (Louisville, Ky.) shot a final-round 72.

As a team, the Cougars placed 10th (+22) overall in a field comprised of four Top 50-ranked teams including host Pepperdine, No. 48, which won the team title (-21). No. 6-ranked Southern Cal was runner-up at -5.

"We were close to having a good tournament," CofC Head Coach Mark McEntire said. "I was happy with the play from William (Rainey) and Parker (Derby). We also got a great final round from Michael Sass. We have a few weeks off before the Schenkel and want to keep improving. I love this team."

The Cougars will take a break from tournament play and return to action at The Schenkel hosted by Georgia Southern on March 17-19 at the Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga.
