Cougars Off to Orangeburg to Face Lady Bulldogs
4/1/2017 8:25:00 PM | Women's Tennis
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's tennis team (12-7) will head up Hwy 26 on Sunday for part two of an in-state rivalry at noon, when they will take on the SC State Lady Bulldogs (4-8) in the hopes of completing the season sweep.
The Cougars will be itching to bounce back from a tough weekend, which saw them fall to conference rivals Towson and Drexel.
CofC played SC State earlier this season at home during Parents Weekend, and cruised to the 7-0 victory. The closest individual match of that encounter was in flight four singles between Anastasia Palaska and Marketa Marcanikova, which Palaska won 6-4, 7-5. Since joining Division I in 1992, the College has gone 16-0 against the Lady Bulldogs.
After starting the season 2-8, SC State has won their last two matches against MEAC foes Bethune Cookman and Savannah State.
