RICHMOND, Va. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team opened fall competition at the Richmond Invitational with notable performances by Johnny Wang and Robby Krick in singles action with all four Charleston student-athletes seeing their first collegiate singles and doubles action.

In his first match for Charleston, freshman Wang fell to Inigo Torre Martin of VCU to open play on Friday before battling back to defeat Richmond junior Matt Fernandez 6-7, 6-3, 10-7 and Jack Kelly of William & Mary 6-7, 6-3, 10-7 on Saturday. Wang then defeated UNC-Charlotte's Henry Lieberman in the consolation final on Sunday to finish in 9^th position in Flight B.

In Flight F, freshman Robby Krick defeated Josh Raymundo of James Madison 7-6, 3-6, 6-1 on Friday for his first collegiate victory, dropping to Dabek of Navy before also falling in the fifth-place matchup to Mittleman of Old Dominion (6-1, 6-3).

In Flight A action, freshman Andre Limon defeated junior Klein Evans of Richmond to open play on Friday, before dropping in the 7^th place matchup 6-2, 6-0, to Alhaqbani of UVA on Saturday.

In doubles action, Krick and Wang teamed up in Flight B, falling to Haes/Caldwell of Richmond and Anghel/Marques of ECU to finish in eighth place.

Ben Husum and Limon teamed up in doubles Flight C, dropping games to Kohler/Arce of James Madison and Erwin/Keitelman of Richmond to also finish in eighth position.

Head coach Jay Bruner and his team now look to the ITA Carolina Regional beginning next weekend, Oct. 13-17, in Cary N.C.
