ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tess Masselink and
Hayden DiBona were the top finishers for the College of Charleston cross country teams at the NCAA Southeast Regional held Friday in Rock Hill, S.C.
Masselink placed 66th overall in the 6k women's race with a time of 21:24.2 while DiBona had a time of 33:05.4 in the men's 10k event. In the team standings, the Cougar women were 29th and the men were 28th.
N.C. State won both team titles to advance to nationals next week in Madison, Wis., and will be joined by Furman (women) and Eastern Kentucky (men).
Masselink's time was eight seconds off her personal best set at the Colonial Athletic Association Meet two weeks ago and gives her three of the six fastest 6k times in school history.
Also scoring for the Charleston women were
Cate Ambrose (22:32.1),
Kristen Cherry (22:53.1),
Jace Kosiorek (24:19.7) and
Eileen Vedder (24:22.4).
Rounding out the men's top five were
Declan Hines (33:13.6),
Ryan Moosbrugger (33:58.2),
Tyler Fish (personal-best 34:00.6) and
Sam Beattie (34:03.3).
