NEWARK, DEL. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team (6-20, 2-13) fell on the road to the Delaware Blue Hens (16-9, 9-5) on Sunday afternoon by a score of 79-51.
• CofC missed their first five shots of the contest, which allowed Delaware to push the lead to double digits by the seven minute mark of the first quarter. The Cougars were able to reduce the deficit to seven midway through the second quarter, but the Blue Hens were able to finish the half on a 19-6 run, which pushed the advantage to 20, sealing the game.

Brianna Boyd was the lone Cougar to reach double-digit scoring with 12 points on 6 of 8 shooting, adding six boards. Both
Tanisha Brown (11 Reb) and
Cailin Dorsey (7 Reb) had strong individual games on the glass as well.
• UD controlled the rebounding advantage 44-36, and outshot the Cougars 46.3% to 29.9%. Kiersten West drew the start on senior day, scoring a career-high 18 points before fouling out midway through the fourth. Nicole Enabosi had an outstanding game with a 22-14-4 with four steals and a whopping six blocks.
• The Cougars remain in ninth place despite the loss by virtue of their tiebreaker with UNCW. The Blue Hens remain in fourth place, sandwiched between Elon and Northeastern.
CofC returns to action Friday when they return to the Lowcountry to face UNCW on Friday morning for Education Day.
