Women's Soccer Set To Face Off Against CAA Foe UNCW On The Road

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Women's Soccer will travel to Wilmington, N.C. to face off against conference foe UNCW on Thursday, Oct. 3 with kick-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
Last Outing
The Cougars took down Drexel on the road by a score of 1-0 on Sept. 29 and is now on a five-game win streak. Freshman Olivia Freitas led CofC to victory when she scored the game winner in the 81st minute of play which marked her first conference goal of her collegiate career. Seven different Cougars took a shot at goal while junior keeper Maggie Berlin recorded four saves on 17 faced shots en route to the shutout.
The Opponent
UNCW has logged an overall record of 5-4 and a 1-1 record in conference play so far this season. The Seahawks started the season out with a perfect 3-0 record before taking their first loss to VCU by a score of 2-1. UNCW took on nationally ranked Wake Forest and fought hard, but ultimately lost by a score of 2-0. The team is led by Audrey Harding and Morgan Nanni who have scored a team-high four goals each. Emily Moxley comes in second in the goals scored category with three, but leads the team in assists with four en route to a team-high 10 points.
