Charleston Caps Homestand With Dukes, Blue Hens This Weekend

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- College of Charleston will wrap up its three-match homestand this weekend when the Cougars host James Madison on Friday evening at 8:00 p.m. and Delaware on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Molly Russell put down a match- and career-high 12 kills and Logan Manusky tied the program's three-set single-match record with 26 digs to lead the Cougars to a sweep of UNCW on Tuesday evening. Mandy Napierala and Brooke Harris each recorded a double-double as Kayla Demari and Emma Falk combined for 17 kills while both hitting over .500. The Cougars held UNCW to 38 kills and a .157 hitting percentage.
THE OPPONENTS
James Madison comes into Friday's match with a 12-6 overall record and sits second in the CAA standings with a 6-2 mark in conference play. The Dukes rank second in the league in both opponent hitting percentage (.164) and blocks per set (2.73). Freshman Sophia Davis ranks third in the CAA in hitting percentage (.405) and eighth in kills per set (2.75).
Delaware enters the weekend with an 11-8 overall record and a 3-5 mark in CAA play. The Blue Hens lead the conference in service aces per set (1.74) and rank third in opponent hitting percentage (.188). Senior Maria Bellinger paces the CAA in kills per set (4.54) while freshman Ezgi Basaranlar is third in assists per frame (10.37).

- Four Cougars are averaging more than 2.00 kills per set over the last five matches including a team-high 3.06 clip for Mandy Napierala.
- Sophomore Molly Russell led the way with a match- and career-high 12 kills in Tuesday's win over UNCW hitting .455 in 22 attempts. The Conroe, Texas native has been solid over the last five matches averaging 2.70 kills per set with a .460 hitting percentage.
- Junior Logan Manusky delivered a sensational performance on Tuesday tying the program's three-set single-match record with a match-high 26 digs including 18 through the first two sets. The San Diego native is averaging 5.62 digs per set over the last five matches and leads the CAA so far this season in that category (4.66).
- Sophomore setter Brooke Harris accounted for her first collegiate double-double on Tuesday dishing out a season-high 20 assists to go along with 10 digs.
- Lauren Freed has been lethal behind the service line so far this season with 24 aces through 20 matches. Her average of 0.34 aces per set ranks sixth in the CAA. She has recorded at least three aces on four occasions this season.
- Kayla Demari and Emma Falk combined for 17 kills in Tuesday's win over UNCW. Demari hit .562 for the match with nine kills on 16 attempts while Falk collected eight kills and hit .538 on 13 swings.
- Head Coach Jason Kepner, the Cougars' all-time wins leader, needs seven victories to reach the 300-mark for his career.
