Complete Camel City Classic Results
Winston-Salem, N.C. – College of Charleston juniors Simone Harris and Maya Pringle established new personal bests in the shot put and 60 meters, respectively, to highlight the Cougar track and field performance on the final day of the Camel City Classic at the JDL Fast Track.
Harris tossed the shot 12.83 meters (42 feet, 1 ¼ inches) to break her previous best by .24 inches. She ranks second in the Cougar indoor record book in the event and also stands third in the outdoor annals. Harris finished seventh in a field of 37 throwers on Saturday.
Pringle's time of 8.16 lowered her previous best by .02 set on the same track two years ago and ranks her eighth in school history.
Stephanie Laudien fell just shy of a PR in the triple jump, posting a mark of 11.14 meters (36-6 ¾), with her PR of 11.18 ranking fifth in school history. She finished eighth out of 22 jumpers in Saturday's competition.
The distance medley relay team of Cate Ambrose, Laurie Fogleman, Kristen Cherry and Tess Masselink improved their time from two weeks ago. The quartet posted a mark of 12:35.98 to shave almost seven seconds off their time from the Gamecock Inaugural.
The Cougars complete their indoor season on February 16 at the USC Open and begin the outdoor campaign a month later at the CSU Spring Break Invitational.
