
Charleston Dispatches Marist, 6-1, At Patriots Point

CHARLESTON, S.C. – With five singles wins and a sweep of doubles action, the College of Charleston men's tennis team made it six straight victories with a 6-1 win over Marist on Saturday morning at Patriots Point.
Robby Krick and Ben Cawston raced into a 6-1 win in doubles play on court three, the freshman duo racking up their 10th doubles win of the year as a duo. No. 54 ranked pair of Benedikt Henning and Johnny Wang clinched the doubles point on court two, knocking off Marist pair Lars Schouten and Max Darrington, 6-4. Easton Thomas and Ksawery Pociej were tested all the way in a 7-5 win on court one to give Charleston the doubles sweep.
In singles play the Cougars continued their domination. Andre Limon raced through a straight sets win on court six, 6-1, 6-0. Pociej finishing minutes later in a 6-2, 6-3 win on court five, his 11th singles victory of the season and sixth in a row.
Wang improved to 7-4 on court four in a 6-4, 6-2, victory to push Charleston into a 4-0 lead, the Red Foxes pulling a point back with a win on court two.
Cawston made it 5-1 to the home team on court three after being pushed all the way in a 7-5, 7-6, win to move to 13-1 in singles play this season. Henning the last to finish on court one in a 7-6, 6-0 victory, his 13th straight win on court number one.
With the win, Charleston moves to 14-2 on the year and have now won six straight at Patriots Point. The Cougars close out a long home stand tomorrow with an 11 a.m. first serve against Fairfield at the CofC Tennis Center.
