CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will host eight-time NCAA Regional participant Dallas Baptist in its final non-conference series of the season in the first-ever meeting between the Cougars and Patriots. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., with junior Griffin McLarty (Buckner, Ky.) taking the ball for the Cougars opposite DBU senior Jordan Martinson.

Weekend Preview
Charleston hopes to carry the momentum from a road sweep of James Madison into the ninth week of the season, and its first-ever meeting with Dallas Baptist on Friday evening.

Scouting Dallas Baptist
Dallas Baptist comes into the weekend with a 23-9 overall record and a 4-2 mark in Missouri Valley play following a midweek win over No. 19 TCU on Tuesday. The Patriots rank eighth in the nation on doubles (74), and are also 12th in strikeouts per nine innings (10.3) as a pitching staff.

The Patriots have clubbed 35 home runs as a team this season, led by Bryce Ball with seven. Four Patriots have driven in at least 20 runs, while Jackson Glenn ranks 17th in the nation with 14 doubles. Luke Bandy paces DBU with a .340 batting average.

Series History
This weekend's series marks the first-ever meeting between College of Charleston and Dallas Baptist, two of the most historically successful mid-major programs in the nation.

Last Time Out
A midweek match-up between the Cougars and The Citadel was halted due to inclement weather in the top of the sixth inning on Tuesday with the Bulldogs leading, 3-2, at Joe Riley Park.

Leading the Pack
Senior Dupree Hart wreaked havoc on the base paths last weekend with six stolen bases, and entered the week leading the nation with 30 steals so far this season. The 5-foot-7 speedster currently ranks sixth all-time with 65 career swipes - one behind former Cougar great Monte Lee - and sits fifth on the program's single-season list.

Power Surge
Senior Logan McRae's bat is heating up with three home runs over the last six games - including key blasts in back-to-back comeback wins this past week at James Madison. The redshirt senior now stands at five long balls for the season, and enters the week ranked sixth all-time at CofC with 30 career home runs.

Cardiac Cougars
Charleston has been no stranger to late-game heroics this season with 14 comeback victories through 33 games. The Cougars have erased a deficit of three or more runs on six occasions this season, including a three-run shortfall in the eighth inning last Sunday at James Madison.

Masterful McLarty
Junior Griffin McLarty has been nothing short of spectacular over his last four starts, going 3-0 with a minuscule 0.58 ERA, 35 strikeouts, and four walks over 31.0 innings. McLarty has an other-worldly WHIP of 0.62, and is limiting opposing batters to a .144 average in that span.
