CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will resume its season series with regional rival Coastal Carolina on Tuesday when the Cougars travel to Conway, S.C. to take on the Chanticleers in midweek action. First pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m. with junior right-hander Tradd James (Sumter, S.C.) taking the ball opposite Coastal Carolina freshman Nick Parker.

Charleston looks to pick up its third straight win over regional rival Coastal Carolina on Tuesday evening in the second of three meetings with the Chanticleers.
 
Scouting Coastal Carolina
Coastal Carolina enters the week with a 23-13-1 overall record and an 8-6 mark in Sun Belt play after dropping both games of a rain-shortened series at Little Rock over the weekend. The Chanticleers rank 10th in the nation with 47 home runs, and are 22nd in scoring (7.8).
 
Kieton Rivers leads the Chants with a .362 batting average and 41 RBI, while Kyle Skeels paces the team with eight home runs. Cameron Pearcey and Cory Wood have each swiped 16 bases in 18 attempts. Tuesday's starter, Nick Parker, carries a 6.05 ERA in 19.1 innings over eight appearances this season.

The Cougars are 24-23 all-time against Coastal Carolina with three wins in the last five meetings with the Chanticleers. Charleston has won the last two match-ups with Coastal Carolina, including an 8-5 win over the Chants on Feb. 27 at Patriots Point.

The Cougars dropped their third weekend series of the season after defeating Dallas Baptist, 4-3, on Friday before falling to the Patriots on Saturday and Sunday.

The Cougars have been one of the most disciplined teams in both the nation and the CAA this season, entering the week with the fewest strikeouts in the conference (200) while also leading the league with nearly seven plate appearances per strikeout - more than 1.2 better than second-best Northeastern.

Senior catcher Danny Wondrack clubbed his ninth home run of the season in the second inning on Sunday to enter the week tied for the CAA lead. The Wall, N.J. native currently leads the Cougars in batting average (.331), home runs (9), RBI (36), total bases (80), and slugging percentage (.602).
 
Chasing History
Senior Nathan Ocker is off to a superb start in his senior season, entering the week with a 5-1 record, eight saves, and a 2.22 ERA in 24.1 innings over 17 appearances. The Middletown, Pa. native ranks second all-time with 22 saves, and is also second in career WHIP (0.99) after setting the single-season mark with a mark of 0.72 in 2018.
 
Base-Running Terrors
The Cougars are giving opposing pitching staffs fits on the bases paths this season, and enter the week ranked 10th in the nation with 81 stolen bases in 36 games. Dupree Hart leads the CAA with 31 swipes, which ranks sixth in the nation and places him fifth on the program's single-season list.
