
Cougars Drop CAA Contest to Blue Hens

NEWARK, Del. --- Sophomore Amani Dunston recorded a double-double and four players combined for 29 kills as College of Charleston fell to Delaware in straight sets on Monday evening in Colonial Athletic Association action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Delaware senior Maria Bellinger accounted for a match-high 19 kills – including 10 in the first set – to lead an efficient attack for the Blue Hens. Charleston's defense forced the Hens to work for every point but unforced errors frustrated the Cougars throughout the match. The Blue Hens won the battle at the net with 11 blocks to the Cougars' four as Charleston combined for 41 kills and a .142 hitting percentage. Delaware finished with 45 kills, five aces and a .271 attacking clip.
COUGAR OF THE MATCH
Senior middle blocker Peyton Eisnaugle put down seven kills on 12 swings, added two blocks and hit .417 to pace the Cougar attack.
