Cougars Fall To Huskies As Comeback Attempt Fell Short

The Short Story: After falling behind by 17 points in the fourth quarter, The College stormed back to bring it within two, but couldn't get over the hump as the Cougars fall to 3-5 in CAA play.

  • Sophomore Tyler Collins led the Cougars in scoring with 18 points while she also dished out two assists and grabbed two rebounds.
  • Sophomore Latrice Perkins poured in 13 points on 6-9 shooting from the field and grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Northeastern started the game on a 4-0 run before Perkins knocked down a triple to make it 4-3.
  • The Huskies finished the first quarter on a 9-2 run to give them an eight-point lead.
  • Senior Baileigh Larson sparked a 10-2 run with back-to-back buckets on the low block and tied the game at 19-19 at the 5:34 mark of the second quarter.
  • Dorsey sunk a three pointer at the 4:22 mark of the second to give the Cougars their first lead of the game (22-21).
  • An 8-0 run by Northeastern to start the third was halted by a Collins three-point play at the 7:24 mark.
  • Northeastern took its largest lead of the night, 17 points, at the 8:46 mark of the fourth, but CofC stormed back with a 24-6 run to cut the lead to just two points with just a minute to left to play.
  • The last minute of play saw back-and-forth buckets by both teams, including four made free throws by the Huskies.

The College finishes off its two-game road stint as it takes on Hofstra on Sunday, Feb. 2 with tip-off scheduled for 1 p.m.
