CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Women's Basketball enters the 2020 CAA Women's Basketball Tournament presented by Sonabank as the No. 8 seed and will face off against No. 9 UNCW on Wednesday, March 11 at 2 p.m. This game will be broadcasted on FloSports. The winner of this game will move onto the quarterfinals and will face off against No. 1 Drexel at 12 p.m. on March 12.
Last Outing
The College fell to Drexel to split the season series by a score of 72-6 to conclude the regular season. Freshman Taylor Williams scored a game-high 18 points in the loss. Sophomore Arynn Eady notched her sixth double-double of the season with 10 points and 15 rebounds. In addition, senior Deja Ford chipped in 11 points while freshman Nia Covington poured in nine points, six rebounds and seven assists. The Cougars kept it a tight contest throughout the day as there were multiple lead changes and ties. Williams' sparked a 11-4 run to cut the Dragons' lead to just three points and followed that up with another run to retake the lead before Drexel retook the lead by one heading into the half. The College was held without a field goal for the last five minutes of the game as Drexel took advantage and sealed the win.

Scouting UNCW
UNCW comes into the game with an overall record of 9-20 and a 6-12 record in conference play. The Seahawks lost their last two games to Drexel (50-52) and Delaware (57-61). However, they have won three out of their last five games.
Head Coach Karen Barefoot is in the midst of her third season at the helm of the program. The Christopher Newport grad holds an overall record of 352-287 and a 39-51 record at UNCW.
The team is led by GiGi Smith and Lacey Suggs who score 14.4 and 12.7 points per game, respectively. Smith leads the team in assists with 2.3 per game while Suggs leads the team in rebounding with 5.2 per game. Smith was also named to the All-CAA Third Team while teammate Ahyiona Vason tabbed CAA All-Defensive Team.

- Head Coach Robin Harmony has a total of 259 wins throughout her career.
- Senior Deja Ford became the 28th Cougar in program history to join the 1,000-point club.
- Sophomore Latrice Perkins and freshman Taylor Williams earned CAA All-Third Team and All-Rookie Team honors, respectively.
- The Cougars started conference play 2-0 for the first time since the 2009-10 season. This also marks the first time The College has gone 2-0 in CAA play since joining the league in 2013.
- Latrice Perkins (13.5), Tyler Collins (11.6) and Deja Ford (10.3) lead the Cougars in scoring per game.
- Sophomore Arynn Eady ranks first in rebounds in the CAA with 9.7 per game.
- Freshman Taylor Williams notched her first career double-double in an OT win over Northeastern at home, logging a career high in points (22) and rebounds (13).
- Sophomore Madison Taylor scored a career-high 20 points against Hofstra at home.
- Eady logged a career-high 18 rebounds twice this season, one in a 67-63 OT win over UNCW on Jan. 26 and the other in a 70-64 loss to William & Mary on Feb. 7, which is tied for fourth most in a single game in program history.
- Senior Deja Ford earned her first CAA Player of the Week honors for the week of 12/30 through 1/5 after scoring 59 points while leading the Cougars to three wins.
- Arynn Eady has six double-doubles on the season while Latrice Perkins has three.
- Perkins and Collins became the first Cougars since 2015 to score at least 29 points in a single game.
- The Cougars forced 33 turnovers against Coker on Nov. 12 which tied the most in a single game since 2010 when CofC took down Wofford.
- Perkins earned Harris Teeter Student-Athlete of the Week honors (Nov. 6-12).
- Eady earned Harris Teeter Student-Athlete of the Week honors twice this season for play through Nov. 13-19 and Jan. 22-28.
- Ford earned Harris Teeter Student-Athlete of the Week honors (Dec. 30-Jan. 5).
- Ford was named a Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention.
