Cougars Set To Play Host To Rhode Island

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Women's Tennis returns home for a five-match homestand beginning with Rhode Island on Tuesday, March 10 at 2 p.m. This match marks head coach Angelo Anastopoulo's 1,000th career match throughout his 29 years at The College.

The Cougars
CofC enters the match with a 9-5 overall record, riding a four-match win streak with wins over Towson (7-0), St. John's (4-3), Duquesne (6-0) and Georgia Southern (4-3). The Cougars hold a 5-1 record when playing at Patriots Point, with their only loss coming from Charlotte.
Freshman Halli Trinkle leads the team in singles play, holding an impressive 11-2 record with an 11-1 record at the No. 2 position. Junior Eva Nyikos comes in at second with an 9-4 record, all at the No. 3 position.
Trinkle and Nyikos have been dominant in doubles play as well, logging a 9-3 record when on the same court.

Head coach Val Villucci has been coaching at URI since 1993, coaching both the men and women. This match marks the first meeting between the two programs.
