CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's basketball team (3-1, 0-0) fell at home, 69-59, to Tarleton State. It was the first loss of the season for CofC, who had won three straight to begin the season in its best start as a program since 2001.
First Half
- The Cougars got off to a good start, taking an early 6-4 lead behind six straight points from Arynn Eady
- CofC scored eight points off turnovers in the first quarter
- With the Cougars leading 20-16, the Cougars used a 10-0 run to grab a 26-20 lead with 3:48 to go in the second quarter
- The Texans extended their lead to 31-22 and carried that advantage into the half
- Charleston struggled to find its footing offensively in the opening half, shooting just 25 percent from the field and 2-of-13 from three
Second Half
- The Cougars scored first in the third quarter to bring the Tarleton lead down to seven, but the Texans used a 12-5 spurt to extend its advantage to 43-29 with 4:52 to go in the third
- CofC then went on an 10-2 run - fueled by Arynn Eady and Peyton Martin - to cut the deficit to 45-39 with 2:10 to play in the third period
- In the fourth quarter, the Texans built a lead of as much as 19
- With 3:55 to play, the Cougars got a triple from Tyler Collins and back-to-back steals that turned into layups - all in a span of less than 20 seconds - that brought the Tarleton lead to just 65-53
- The Cougars would only get within 10, as the Texans held on to the lead and grabbed the win

- Charleston forced the Texans into 28 turnovers, scoring 22 points as a result
- The Cougars secured 22 offensive rebounds
- CofC attempted 81 field goals, the fourth most in program history
- The Cougars were just 4-of-25 from deep and 3-of-8 from the foul line

- Arynn Eady put on an impressive dsiplay, totaling 14 points, 13 rebounds, six steals, and four blocks for her second double-double of the season
- Peyton Martin followed up her double-double at Norfolk State with a solid 16 point, 6 rebound outing
- Jenna Annecchiarico scored nine points and dished out eight assists, but her eight steals were a career-high and the second-most in a game by a Cougar in the program's division-one history
