College of Charleston Head Coach Earl Grant
On the loss …
"A lot changed in 24 hours. I really have to give Elon credit. Coach Schrage, how hard it is to lose the way they did yesterday and then show so much character today. Coming back out and playing inspired basketball. It's a great example of how mental is the four and physical is the one. We were amazing yesterday with our energy level and we did some great things as a collection. Today, we weren't quite as good. We broke down a couple of times defensively and gave them some open shots. They did a great job of guarding us and taking us out of some of our actions. Our execution wasn't as good. It's amazing, mentally, how you can be so different in back-to-back days. Hopefully, we can learn from both of these games we played over the weekend. We can learn from it and try to come back and work hard next week to get ready for the final stretch of the season."
Â
On Elon's play on Sunday …
"If you don't stay humble, you will get humbled. Sometimes when you get humbled enough, there is something that rises up inside of you to put you in a position where you are desperate. They (Elon) were desperate (to win) and we got humbled. Plain and simple. We will watch film and see where we could have done things better."
Â
College of Charleston Junior Guard Zep Jasper
On the difference between yesterday's game and today's game …
"The same energy from yesterday wasn't there today. We looked a little sluggish. We just didn't look right today. I don't think there is a reason (to why that happened). It was more of a humble thing with us beating them by 20+ points yesterday. We all knew that they (Elon) would come out and play hard from the jump. We didn't come out ready to play today."
