Charleston Hosts Samford Friday to Begin Busy Weekend

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston women's tennis team welcomes Samford to Patriots Point on Friday to kick off a busy weekend with four matches scheduled in three days. The Cougars and Bulldogs will square off twice this weekend with matchups scheduled for Friday at 2:00 p.m. and Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Charleston will also face Liberty on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and Towson on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
The Cougars
Charleston enters Friday's match looking to bounce back from a tough 4-3 setback to Gardner-Webb last Sunday. Kate Earnhardt leads CofC with four singles victories while four other Cougars follow close behind with three wins each. The duo of Anastasia Palaska and Clara Errard have four wins to their credit in doubles play this season.

Scouting Samford
The Bulldogs enter the match with a 7-6 record after sweeping Bellarmine last Sunday. Rouxanne van Rensburg leads Samford with a 9-3 singles record in the top flight while Natalia De Ugarte and Alexis Lopez each have six singles wins to their credit. Lopez and van Rensburg are 6-2 thus far at No. 1 doubles for the Bulldogs.
Scouting Liberty
Liberty comes into the weekend with an 8-2 record including back-to-back wins over Richmond and William & Mary. Esther Lovato is undefeated at 9-0 in singles play so far this spring and Marina Davtyan carries a 9-1 mark into the weekend as well. Micaela Ode Mitre and Tiffany Nguyen lead the way with an 8-1 mark in doubles play.
Scouting Towson
The Tigers enter the weekend with a 2-5 overall record and a 0-2 mark in CAA play. Sarah Pospischill paces Towson with a 4-3 mark in singles play while Themis Haliou is 3-3 in the top singles flight. Amelia Lawson and Lauryn Jacobs are 3-2 in doubles play.
