Box Score CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston women's soccer team battled Kennesaw State into a second overtime period before the Owls escaped with a 2-1 victory on Thursday night at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point.

After a scoreless first half, the Owls (1-2-0) took the lead in the 80
th minute when Kathryn Schreck converted a free kick from just outside the box. It only took the Cougars (0-2-1) three minutes to gain the equalizer when a foul in the box led to a successful
Grace Powell penalty kick.

Kennesaw State then tallied the golden goal just over a minute into the second extra session when Lexi Labonte emerged from a scramble in front of the net to give the Owls the victory.

- Grace Powell had two of CofC's four shots on target, and her goal was the fourth of her career and second successful PK.
- Olivia Freitas and Mary Alexander tied for the team lead with four shots.
- The Cougar defense limited the Owls to 10 shots and only three on goal. Meredith Holton was credited with one save.

- Freitas, Holton, Lauren Sandidge, Bunny Nazari and Lauren Reichardt went the full 102 minutes. Holton, Reichardt and Sandidge have been on the field for all 301:15 through three games.
- The contest wrapped up a three-game, season-opening homestand for the Cougars.
- The Owls have won six of seven games in the all-time series against CofC.
