Logan Pope set a new career-high with 19 kills and
Claire Campbell recorded six blocks to surpass the 300-mark for her career as College of Charleston clinched a berth in the 2022 CAA Championship with a 3-1 win over Stony Brook on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, College of Charleston (12-13, 7-5 CAA) becomes the fifth team to lock up a spot in next month's CAA Championship. The Cougars won the match by scores of 21-25, 25-23, 25-21 and 26-24 to pick up their fifth victory in the last six matches. Charleston combined for 62 kills, 15 blocks and a .320 hitting percentage on the day; Stony Brook (9-14, 4-10 CAA) finished the match with 61 kills, 13 service aces, seven blocks and a .213 attacking clip.

- Pope put together the best match of her career slamming down a career-high 19 kills while hitting .417 and collecting six blocks.
- Campbell was superb at the net as well, registering 13 kills on 19 attempts without an error to go along with six blocks. Her six stuffs propelled her past the 300-mark for her career.
- Tynley Smeltzer paced the back row with a match-high 20 digs including seven in the fourth set.
- Emma Falk delivered in a big way with nine kills, a .471 hitting percentage and a match-high seven blocks.
- Emma Appleman recorded her 13th career double-double with 33 assists and 12 digs while surpassing the 1,000-assist mark for her career.
- Anna Smith chipped in 10 kills and six digs.
Match Notes
- The Cougars accounted for 35 of their 62 kills in the final two sets committing only four errors and compiling a .373 hitting percentage in that stretch.
- Pope and Campbell combined for 14 of the Cougars' 19 kills in the fourth set. The duo needed only 20 swings and did not commit an error.
- Campbell is now only six blocks shy of moving into a tie for ninth on the program's all-time list.
- With her 20 digs on Sunday, Smeltzer reached the 500-dig mark for her career.
