
Charleston Hosts William & Mary in Blackout Game Friday Night

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's basketball team returns home to TD Arena on Friday afternoon to host William & Mary. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. on FloSports.

- The College of Charleston Cougars are coming off arguably their biggest win of the season, defeating Drexel 74-73 in Philadelphia last Sunday.
- Charleston led by as many as 24 points in the game before the Dragons fought their way back to tie the game with just over a minute to play. The Cougars did not falter, responding with back-to-back buckets from Jenna Annecchiarico and a perfect 4-for-4 finish at the free throw line
- The CofC win snapped Drexel's 14-game winning streak which was tied for the longest active win streak in the nation
- The Dragons - entering Sunday's contest - were 17-2 and a perfect 9-0 in CAA play. The Cougars handed Drexel their first loss in league action
- It was Charleston's first ever win at Drexel's Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Cougars were previosuly 0-7 in that building
- Arynn Eady scored a career-high 27 point performance that led the Cougars past the Dragons. She also added 12 boards, two assists, and two blocks
- Eady shot 11-of-13 from the floor, tied for the second-most field goals made in a game by a Charleston player in the program's division-one era
- Entering Friday's game, Eady has amassed 794 career rebounds during her time at The College. The senior from Atlanta is third all-time on the career rebounding list at CofC and needs just 52 rebounds to become the all-time leading rebounder in Cougars history. Eady's career rebounding average (8.3) is the second-best in the history of the program
- Eady also ranks fourth all-time in blocks at The College with 131 rejections for her career
- Junior point guard Jenna Annecchiarico leads the CAA in total assists, assists per game, total steals, and steals per game. She ranks 10th nationally in assists per game and sixth in the NCAA in steals per contest
- In addition to leading in those categories, Annecchiarico's free throw percentage of 86.7 percent leads the CAA and ranks 26th in the nation
- Tyler Collins sits at 969 points for her career. Collins is averaging 9.2 points per game as a senior this season.
- The Cougars have already won 12 games this season. From the 2014-15 season until the 2018-19 season, CofC never won more than 11 games
- William & Mary is 6-14 this season and sitting second-to-last in the CAA standings with a 1-8 conference record
- Dani McTeer, a 6'0" forward, won CAA Rookie of the Week for the week of February 7th
- The Tribe have lost five straight and are 2-8 on the road this season.
- William & Mary leads the all-time series 10-8
- CofC won the first meeting 87-71 on Jan. 16. Anika McGarity scored a career-high 25 points in that game and was later named CAA Player of the Week
