MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. -- The College of Charleston men's tennis team (6-6, 1-0) rallied to win the final two singles matches on its way to CAA opening win over James Madison on Thursday at the CofC Tennis Center.
James Madison cruised in doubles, winning 6-0 and 6-3 to take the point. The Cougars would remain steady as the match entered singles.
JMU won on court one, pushing its lead to 2-0. CofC responded, with
Robby Krick winning on court two 6-3, 6-3 to pick up his third singles victory.
Johnny Wang battled to a victory, winning on the third set by an 8-6 tiebreak. After a Dukes win on court three evened the score up at 3-3, all eyes turned to court four.
Noah Borges won the first set in a tiebreak before losing the second set. In the final set, Borges won 6-4 to clinch the match victory for Charleston. Borges has six singles victories on the year.
Charleston has now won four consecutive matches. The win snapped a three-match losing streak to JMU dating back to 2017.
