WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The College of Charleston women's tennis team (13-5, 3-0) continued its sizzling stretch of play on Sunday morning, sweeping Towson 7-0 in a neutral site CAA match in Wilmington, N.C. The Cougars are 3-0 to start conference play, the best start to a CAA slate for Charleston since the 2013-14 season.
Charleston has won nine consecutive decisions. That is the most wins in a row Cougars since the 2013 team also won nine matches in a row.
In the nine match winning streak, the Cougars won all nine decisions in a span of just ten days.
How It Happened
The Cougars swept doubles, winning on all three courts 6-2, 6-4, and 6-3, respectively. In the nine match winning streak, the Indiana match was the only contest where the Cougars lost the doubles point.Â
In singles,
Slade Coetzee improved to 15-1 in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
Halli Trinkle picked up her 15th singles victory with a 6-3, 6-2 win.Â
Maja Jekauc won her fifth singles match in a row with a 6-3, 6-0 victory while
Elizabeth Nowak improved to 10-3 in singles with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) win.
Kate Earnhardt picked up singles win number six while
Helena Huff moved to 5-0 in solo competition.Â
