CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team returns home for the first of four games this week at Patriots Point on Tuesday when the Cougars host in-state rival Coastal Carolina. First pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m.
Charleston carries a seven-game winning streak into Tuesday's game including four straight on the road at USC Upstate and Elon last week. Coastal Carolina enters the week with a 22-14-1 overall record after sweeping a Sun Belt series from UT Arlington over the weekend.

The Cougars lead the all-time series, 25-24, and have won three of the last five meetings with the Chanticleers. Coastal Carolina edged the Cougars, 8-7, in their last meeting on March 23, 2021 in Conway.

LEADING OFF
- The Cougars have been rolling over the last two weeks carrying a seven-game winning streak into Tuesday's game while also winning nine straight in CAA action. Charleston has won 10 of its last 11 outscoring opponents by a 77-48 margin in that span.
- Junior Ty Good delivered a sensational outing in the series opener against Elon on Friday allowing one earned run and scattering six hits across seven innings to earn his sixth win of the season. The Rock Hill, S.C. native struck out a career-high 11 batters while not surrendering a walk to earn his first career CAA Pitcher of the Week honors.
- Sophomore William Privette has been virtually untouchable out of the 'pen this season entering the week ranked second in the nation in ERA (0.86), 16th in saves (8) and 18th in WHIP (0.91). The lanky right-hander has struck out 55 batters in only 41.2 innings of work while holding opponents to a .164 batting average.
- Junior Trotter Harlan has been a consistent force in the lineup this season reaching base safely in all but four games while leading the team in on-base percentage (.424), RBI (34) and stolen bases (16). He is also tied for the CAA-lead with 28 walks.
- The Cougars have been lethal with two outs this season accounting for 37 percent of their total run production with two men down.
- The Cougars' pitching staff delivered perhaps its most complete weekend of the season in the sweep of Elon holding the Phoenix to five runs (four earned) on 17 hits with only four of those going for extra bases. In 27 innings of work, the Cougars surrendered only seven walks while recording 29 strikeouts.
- Freshman Cole Mathis put his two-way talent on full display at Elon this past weekend striking out five batters in four shutout innings across two relief appearances while also marking his first collegiate home run with a two-run shot on Sunday. For his efforts, Mathis was named the CAA Rookie of the Week on Monday.
SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS
- Coastal Carolina enters the week with a 22-14-1 overall record and an 11-6-1 mark in Sun Belt action.
- The Chanticleers rank 12th in the nation in sacrifice flies (24) and 17th in sac bunts (26) while leading the Sun Belt in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.58).
- Tyler Johnson paces the Chants' offense batting .362 with eight home runs and 28 RBI thus far. Six Chanticleers have driven in at least 24 runs this season.
- Tuesday starter Jack Billings has struck out 13 batters in 10.2 innings of work across 11 appearances thus far.
