MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. -- The College of Charleston men's tennis team (8-8, 1-2) fell on Saturday to CAA foe UNCW, 6-1. 

The Cougars battled in doubles, taking early leads on two courts. The Seahawks would surge back, winning 6-3 on court 3 and then clinching the doubles point on court one, 6-3.

In singles action, Robby Krick won his first set, 6-4, on court two. Matias Gaedechens also rallied to win his first set, 7-5, on court three.

UNCW picked up first set advantages on courts one, four, five and six. The Seahawks entered the singles period needing just three individual victories to claim a match victory. The Seahawks went on to earn victories on courts four and five to open up a 3-0 lead on the Cougars.

Charleston picked up their first point of the day when Matias Gaedechens won 7-5, 6-1 on court three. It would not be nearly enough, as UNCW clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-4 win on court six. The Seahawks won on courts one and two to finish the match and claim a 6-1 victory.
