CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston wraps up the non-conference portion of its schedule on Friday with a 7 p.m. game against Furman at Stone Stadium in Greenville.
The Cougars are riding a four-game winning streak and have allowed only one goal during that stretch. In its latest outing on Sunday, Charleston got goals from Grace Powell and Jenna Snead in a 2-1 victory over Appalachian State.
The goal was Powell's sixth of the season, the second-highest total in the CAA, and she is fourth in the conference with 12 points. Snead scored her first goal in two seasons as a Cougar.
Mary Alexander and Olivia Freitas are second on the team with three goals each, and Bubbles Dever is tied for third in the CAA with four assists. Savannah Barron, the reigning CAA Defensive Player of the Week, is fourth in the conference with an 0.75 GAA and sixth with an .800 save percentage.
Furman is 4-4 and is led in scoring by Nieva Gaither with four goals and four assists for 12 points. Stella Garcia and Julia Nicholas also have four goals.
The Paladins have won 17 of the 24 games in the all-time series, most recently a 2-1 victory at Patriots Point in 2019.
