No. 22 Men's Basketball Faces Road Challenge at UNCW

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The No. 22 College of Charleston men's basketball team will continue CAA play tomorrow evening at UNCW. Action is set for 7:00 p.m. in Trask Coliseum.

STORYLINES
  • After a 20-year absence, the College of Charleston men's basketball team is ranked in AP Top 25 men's college basketball poll coming in at No. 22 after spending last week at 23.
  • The Cougars received 246 votes after lurking the receiving votes column for most of the young season. This is the Cougars' highest ranking since being No. 16 in the March 1, 1999 AP Poll.
  • At 16-1, Charleston holds the nation's longest winning streak at 15 straight victories. Their 16 wins are also the most by any team in the country so far this season. UNCW is right behind the Cougars with 13 straight victories.
  • The Cougars run a ten-man rotation that sees nine Cougars average at least nine minutes. Eight different Cougars have led the team in scoring at least once so far this season.
  • This will be the 21st meeting in program history for the Cougars and Seahawks dating back to 2007. The Seahawks won both regular season meetings a season ago as well as ended the Cougars season in the CAA Semifinals, 60-57.
  • Raekwon Horton and Ben Burnham started the semifinal contest for the Cougars with Horton posting 11 points and ten rebounds in his first career double-double.
  • Dalton Bolon and Burnham led the Cougars with 13 points each on Saturday vs. Delaware. Ante Brzovic had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, his third of the season.
SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS
  • Trazarien White paces the Seahawks with 14.1 points per game followed by Shykeim Phillips with 9.6 points per game. White also chips in 5.8 rebounds per game, a team best.
  • Maleeck Harden-Hayes dropped 25 points in a 66-61 victory at N.C. A&T Saturday to lead the Seahawks to their 13th straight victory. 
RECEIVING RECOGNITION 
  • The No. 22 Cougars have been rewarded for their efforts earning the program's first AP Top 25 ranking since 2022 and are currently ranked #2 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll.
  • Charleston is ranked 51 in the NET Rankings and 34 in Andy Katz's Power Rankings published by the NCAA.

  • UNCW has already announced the contest as sold out. Charleston fans can join the watch party at the Kickin' Chicken located at 45 Romney Street.
